Deployment Applications
Deployment of objects that require a precise
surface on the micro-/nanoscale is possible with SMP. The
pictures below show a 1 mm × 1 mm square with shape
memory qualities.
The laser-addressed microactuator on the left
is in its memory shape. The partially flattened microactuators
were flattened for deployment, and can be restored to their
memory shape upon activation.
