 HALO™
Micro Air Vehicle Exhibited at AUVSI
In June, CRG exhibited the Hovering Autonomous
Low-profile Observer (HALO) micro air vehicle (MAV) at the AUVSI
Unmanned Systems North America trade show in San Diego, California.
The Tuesday edition of the Show News featured the HALO
on page 5. The system is targeted for intelligence, surveillance
and reconnaissance, law enforcement, border patrol and other markets.
Whether a mission calls for hand-launching by
a field operator or deployment from a larger unmanned system,
the HALO MAV provides access and reconnaissance in areas too dangerous
or difficult for humans or larger vehicles, such as tunnels, caves,
buildings or cluttered urban environments. The ducted fan design
provides vertical takeoff and landing and hovering capabilities
and the system can operate autonomously or by remote control.
The HALO vehicle is the first aerospace system to be sold commercially
by CRG. Read
more about the MAV. (6-12-2008)
