Dr. Hood Gives Talks at Area Universities
Dr. Patrick Hood was invited to give talks at
the University of Dayton (April 6, 2005) and at Ohio Northern
University (April 5, 2005). He spoke to faculty and engineering
students in a presentation entitled "Dare to Fail: An
Entrepreneur's Journey."
An excerpt from a news article from the University
of Dayton:
"The more you fail the more you learn."
It's the mantra of an entrepreneur who holds six patents
and has published and presented more than 50 research papers.
Hood wrote the business plan for CRG without having ever
taken a business class. "Fortunately, the company started
to grow," Hood said with a laugh. Every Friday CRG
holds company meetings involving the entire staff and awards
one Employee Failure of the Week. Hood believes that if
people don't share their failures then other employees will
make the same mistake; then there is no room for education
or improvement. "Don't be afraid to fail," said
Hood. "It takes a secure person to be willing to fail."
