Care Packages for a National Guard
Unit Serving in Iraq
In January of 2005, one of our employees was
shipped out with his National Guard platoon to defend our
country and fight the war against terrorism in Iraq. Andy
Klein was a student employee who worked in our Advanced
Materials division. His unit consisted of 25 men located near
Baghdad for peacekeeping purposes. This particular platoon
was a combat arms company, which means no women were allowed
in their unit because of the potentially lethal situation.
His platoon saw action on one of their routine missions.
To show our support for Klein and his platoon,
CRG set up the opportunity for other employees to donate money
to send large care packages to Iraq for Andy and his National
Guard unit. CRG agreed to match whatever the donations are
made as well as add $250 a month for this project.
Two large care packages were sent to Klein.
Along with food items, CRG also sent journals, crosswords,
and many toys. Klein advised that they give the toys out to
the children they passed to show the compassion of our country
for the people of Iraq.
